COL John J. Brennan, U.S.A.
Citation: Distinguished Service Cross
War: World War II

COL DR. JOHN J. BRENNAN, a survivor of the Bataan Death March, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in action at Abucay, Hacienda, Bataan, Philippine Islands, during the period of January 22-24, 1942. He maintained his battalion aid station in operation even though it was repeatedly under heavy artillery fire and dive bombing attacks. Even when shells fell in the immediate vicinity of two officers who had been bombarded by enemy 105s, he administered first aid to save a life.

Dr. Brennan had been a LIFE MEMBER of the Legion of Valor since 1949 and resided in Northern California.
